HAAS Recycling-SystemsInternationally demanded quality in the recycling industry
Three excellent days are lying behind us – 30th company anniversary
From 12th to 14th September our company premises became the centre of attraction and the stage for numerous visitors from all over the world.
“The longest journeys have been from Guam, Thailand, Korea and Brazil, and ultimately we owe that to the good and close business connections.”
“I was overwhelmed that so many visitors celebrated these days with us and made it to a unique and unforgettable time. Today, we operate globally and are a major regional employer with over 80 employees. In 1989, we started small, in a double garage in Stockum.
During our business development we were able to experience a lot of beautiful things, so our wish was: to pass on a piece of the happiness that we often enjoyed to people who rarely encounter happiness. Instead of flowers and gifts in kind, people were therefore asked for donations for the Unnauer Patenschaft (children’s cancer aid). So far the donation amount is already 3500 €! We would like to thank you again for all your donations. Of course, you can also make a donation afterwards, you can get more information here”. Volker Haas
On Thursday we started the festivities with an informative dealer day. HAAS systems installed in Neuwied and Cologne demonstrated the expertise of the company live to the professional visitors.
The kick-off then was the evening event, with delicious food, cold drinks and the rock music duo “zwo ampère”, being celebrated into the night.
As a highlight and special surprise during the 30th anniversary of HAAS a TYRON as a CRJ special model was presented to our sales partner CRJ, the pleasure was huge.
On Friday we celebrated the official anniversary with a welcome of customers, representatives of politics and the Chamber of Crafts for plant demonstrations at our premises in Dreisbach. The slightly cloudy weather did not prevent the invited guests from coming in large numbers to watch the live demos or to learn more about one or another topic.
The Saturday as the final day was reserved for our employees, their families and the citizens of Dreisbach. The sunny autumn weather was used by countless visitors to take a look behind the scenes.
The shining eyes of the children were not only caused by the huge pirate bouncy castle but above all by our “lively” TYRON. The children (and adults as well) could have photos taken of the approx. 2 m big mascot as a souvenir or even cuddle it!
The musicians of the Westerwald band “Walk the Line” created a great atmosphere for the adults with their wide range of blues, country and soul music. Drinks, snacks, coffee and cake could satisfy thirst and appetite.
During the demonstrations of the mobile machines amazed faces could be seen. Carsten Schmidt, our workshop manager, guided the visitors around the large machines and shared facts and figures with the interested audience. The TYRON double-shaft pre-shredder processed gigantic roots and wood waste into small-sized shredded material in seconds and then handed it over to the 3-fraction screen of the Italian manufacturer ECOSTAR.
Another machine combination consisting of the TYRON pre-shredder and the hammermill ARTHOS first shredded wood waste and later PVC window extrusions. The mobile non-ferrous and ferrous separator GLADIATOR finally removed ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
“At the beginning of the new millennium, we began producing diesel-powered mobile equipment for recycling waste wood. What we produce here in this small Westerwald town is very popular on the global market. We act professionally and still with a family atmosphere, which makes us proud.” Sascha Kloft, second managing director since 2015
The last demonstration finished at 16.00 o’clock and since this weekend all the visitors understand why the Vikings ARTHOS and TYRON are known for strength and robustness!

Upgrade: TYRON 2500-E 2.0 replaces the old “classic” model The CHP plant BHKW Flohr offers, with FLOHR AG as its shareholder, sustainable concepts for the utilization of biomass. Long term experience as well as the newest technology in the treatment of waste wood and biomass and its utilization are creating customized energy solutions. Every year BHKW Flohr generates 102.000 tons of steam (sufficient for approx 4.500 single-family houses) and 47.000 megawatt hours of electricity (coverage for 11.750 single-family houses), from end of life timber produced in industry and households. Flohr also operates a CHP plant at Siegerland airport. The total recycling capacity of Flohr is approx. 200.000 tons of waste wood per year. After 6 years of reliable operation, the stationary TYRON 2500-E is replaced by the new, revised version TYRON 2500-E 2.0.! Six years of practical experience found their way into the design of the new machine. Nearly all customer requirements were implemented by HAAS and the shredder has been adapted accordingly. A customized infeed hopper, easier access for regular service and maintenance as well as many small ideas and suggestions from the operating staff can be found in the new HAAS TYRON 2500-E 2.0. 30 years HAASt seems like it was yesterday, in a small garage in Stockum-Püschen … I was born in Stockum-Püschen 1960. This is where I grew up and where the foundation for my commercial independence was laid. The first project plans and order placements were made 1989 right here in Stockum. Today HAAS is represented worldwide! The number of employees has always grown up to over 80 today. Sascha Kloft supports me since 2015 as second managing director and will steer the future fortunes of HAAS. Of course, we have changed a few things at HAAS in the meantime for example more and more extensions of office buildings, new production halls and warehouses. The product range was constantly extended, from exclusively stationary plant components for sawmills, to today’s wide range of stationary and mobile components. A special thanks to all of our customers with whom we are in constant contact. Because of their suggestions and experience we are able to develop our machines further again and again. Especially in the field of mobile technology a lot has changed in our company – for example there is our double shaft slow speed shredder ‘’TYRON’’ or since 2018 the hammermill ‘’ARTHOS’’. In the past, our HAAS machines were used exclusively for shredding waste wood. Today the TYRON is a popular all-rounder, which is also used for processing waste and substitute fuels, PVC and plastics or roots and green waste. Do you already know our two vikings TYRON and ARTHOS? They have become our trademarks in the meantime. For us these two are much more than pretty names and faces – for us, the strength, robustness and fighting spirit of the Vikings are reflected in our product quality! Looking back, I can proudly say that we have done a great job. Stones that seemed to get in the way at first sight, have partly shown us a new way or guided us to new ideas. Some of the original HAAS plants are still in operation after almost 30 years and still doing their job reliably – isn´t that great? I’m glad to look back on 30 good business years together with you and I am curious to see how HAAS will develop in the next years! Thank you very much Yours Volker Haas
